The Church to Release New LP, Tour U.S.

Australian 21-year veterans The Church have announced that they will be releasing a new LP on April 24, their first release here of new material (they wrote themselves) in three years. The LP is entitled After Everything (a title apparently picked because the group claims their new LP looks back at the vintage sound they had in their Heyday-era heyday, after a long period of monkeying with their sound), it will be released on the new label The Telegraph Company. And the group, which still includes founders Steve Kilbey, Marty Willson-Piper and Peter Koppes, as well as drummer Tim Powles, who joined in 1994, are planning to cross the Pacific to play if for us. It all kicks off with an appearance at the famed SXSW in Austin, Texas in March (where The Soft Boys will also begin their shocking reunion tour), followed by the more usual club shows and industry showcases in the bigger cities, then a fuller tour of the U.S. and Canada will take place in the summer. Sounds good here.
