Notes
Includes this write-up on The Church:
At times, Australia's The Church is reminiscent of the Byrds, their shimmering pop tunes dipped into a vat of jingle-jangle-morning 12-string folk-rock guitars; The Church's other major influence is the '70s British glam of T. Rex, Cockney Rebel and David Bowie. Wherever they were coming from, by 1986's Heyday The Church had solidified its sound and created the LP that main lyricist Steven Kilbey called "the loosest, warmest album we could make in a week or two of spontaneous creativity." "Tantalized," from Heyday, is indeed five minutes of glorious spontaneous combustion.
