Notes

"41 Essential Australian Rock Singles 1976 - 1986."
Includes a 20-page booklet with this write-up on The Church:

The "dense, shimmering, exquisite guitar pop" which an (sic) Los Angeles Times reviewer raved over in 1988 began here, in 1981 with ethereal, haunting Unguarded Moment. "From the earliest records" Dino Scatena has written, "the band's sound and aura has been moulded around Steve Kilbey's mystical images and semi-detached vocal delivery, layered on top of Marty Willson-Piper's passionate, intricate riffery. The result is always uniquely Church, no matter how they twist and contort the boundaries." Since this auspicious start, the Church has become one of Australian Music's most respected and admired exports, with a gold U.S. album award for Starfish and a top thirty Billboard hit with Under The Milky Way.
