Notes
Includes 64 page book with photos, essays and track by track commentary. Includes this write-up on The Church:
Here's a case where a band's most popular song is arguably its best. Eight years into a career largely unnoticed outside their native Australia, The Church didn't want to make another jangly psych-pop record—they wanted an edge. So who better to produce than L.A. soft-rock session guitarist Waddy Wachtel, whose name graced the sleeves of Stevie Nicks and Linda Ronstadt? The parties clicked all the same, delivering an album that shows no signs of creative compromise. Starfish, released in 1988 and previewed by this Top 40 U.S. single, brings rich sonics to one of the band's best-written batches of songs.
