When we saw The Church perform this song on the 'Further Deeper' tour it was electrifying. There was something mystical and formidable about it. The undulating movement of the chords, the insistent pulse of the rhythm, the enigmatic lyrics... all coalesce to evoke a feeling that is both desperate and defiant. Brilliant stuff! Later on we ended up meeting the band and remarked to vocalist Steve Kilbey how much we enjoyed "Sealine" and that our band should cover it. He replied: "You should!" And so with that, we did!
