THE FAIR ISLES

Info on The Fair Isles from Marty Willson-Piper (May 2, 2016):

From out of nowhere we have formed yet another band, The Fair Isles, with my eldest daughter Signe Carlberger on lead vocals, Anekdoten's Nicklas Barker on 6 string acoustic and mellotron, (most recently) Atomic Swing's Daniel Bengtson on bass and faders and yours truly on acoustic 12 string and percussion.

The piece, a cover of Willow Song composed by Paul Giovanni and originally performed by Folk Rock band Magnet, is from The Wicker Man soundtrack and is promoting Macken Bryggeri's SummerIsle brew in tribute to the film. You may remember this superb piece of British cinema from 1973 starring Edward Woodward, Christopher Lee, Lindsay Kemp and Swedish beauty Britt Ekland in a disturbing crescendo that is still shocking to this day.
