my wife in the twisted jungles of lemuria
in the jungle, the mighty jungle
my wife standing there in the moonlight
my wife standing there in a clearing
my wife waiting for you to arrive
my wife nk a hundred thousand years ago
my wife in my long ago life
in the tangle and the monkeys
in the snakes and in the spiders
in the vine and in the dark and in the bark
and in the flesh and in the blood
yeah, come just a little closer mister
come a little off the beaten track
come and see lemuria
come and see south america
come and see magic realism in action
come and see the armadillos
come and see the big old snakes
yeah, lemuria
a thousand words on lemuria
a lost wife on a lost continent
i paint my wife in lemuria to reconcile 'em
surely with her delicate face
surely with her brown eyes
surely with her pale skin
surely with her elusive smile
maybe she don't remember it the way i do

those temple nights
those days in the markets
those trips down river
those times when we penetrated the mysteries

she seems a little possessed
